Summertime! (picture post!)

I love summer. It is definitely, without a doubt, my favorite season. I love the lazier days, the sun, the pool, the beach, the swimsuits. Apparently, my girls do too! Swimsuits seem to be the preferred outfit most days, and I couldn't resist this new swimsuit for Vera...doesn't she look adorable? This is the first day she wore it...out puddle jumping on the way to Alex's parents' apartment for dinner!

Lazy days look like this around here...

Who needs clothes when you look this cute already? Geneva is a reader already...curling up with a good book on the porch whenever she needs a 'break' from the high activity that seems to always be happening in the living room.

And here is Wendy with her masterpiece...we accidentally bought a 250 piece puzzle last week. Seriously, this puzzle was sitting there with a bunch of other puzzles, all 50 pieces or less. Guess I should have looked more closely at the box. With a little help, we managed to get it all together and Wendy was quite proud!

Unfortunately summertime in Shanghai means lots of goodbyes to friends moving back to their home countries. This year was an especially sad goodbye to my sweet friend Lisa and her family. They have been dear, dear friends these past four years in Shanghai and it is hard to imagine what our lives will be like without them here! They left this week for NC, so we'll see them whenever we visit family there, but we will miss them dearly here!

Lisa held a little going-away party for all of Will and Addie's friends outside last week. The kids had a great time with water and bikes at the 'circles' in our neighborhood. This was their 'silly' photo.

And a final set of photos that I just had to include. Vera loves doing Geneva's hair and Geneva doesn't seem to mind! This has become a multiple-times-a-day activity for these two. Hope it lasts...can't you just see V helping G get ready for the prom?? Maybe with a few less bows, though...
