Vera's birthday party was at a playplace at a mall near our home....I am a big fan of birthday parties at a venue other than my living room. Clean up is a breeze and since my living room is quite tiny, a place like this accommodates Vera's love of big groups of friends!
(Note the pink frosting on the cupcakes...on the day she turned 4 she announced that her new favorite color was pink!)

What would a kid's birthday party be without a theme? Vera wanted to wear her Supergirl costume to the party...so we decided on a superhero party. And guess who made a surprise appearance??
Yes, that is Mr. Incredible himself! Super-Vera and her sister Super-Little Mermaid (Wendy insisted Ariel was a kind of superhero) were thrilled to have Mr. Incredible join the party.
Alex was great at organizing a couple of relay races and games inside the play area.
Supergirl and her best friend Spidergirl share a joyful hug after their team won the relay race!
