Jesse Tree - Day Sixteen

Daniel in the Lion's Den was our story today. For our ornament...a lion, of course! The girls enjoyed drawing faces on their lions and then we added some colored cotton for the mane.

We read again from the Jesus Storybook Bible. The girls' favorite picture was of Daniel sitting in the Lion's Den with a gigantic lion asleep in his lap! While I don't necessarily think that is what the lions did when God closed their mouths, it certainly illustrates effectively the contrast to what King Darius thought he would see when he peeked into the den the next morning to see how Daniel had fared.

Here is the final segment of the chapter...

" The king made a new law: "Daniel's God is the true God. The God who Rescues! Pray to him instead!" God would keep on rescuing his people. And the time was coming when God would send another brave Hero, like Daniel, who would love God and do what God said-- whatever it cost him, even if it meant he would die.
