Visit from Aunt Lisa

My twin sister, Lisa, visited us last week...and we had such a great time! She really was the best guest EVER. It was such a blessing to have her visit...her sweet family (husband and two small kids) were so great to let her come for the week! Our girls miss her so much already. She made cookies with them, brought tons of Christmas crafts, and was a huge help with the big girls while I still adjust to having three little ones. Here are a few photos from our time together:

Lisa, being the awesome kindergarten teacher that she is, brought tons of crafts to do with the girls! Here they are decorating some stockings and hanging on the string above them are 'suncatchers' that they painted in christmas designs. Christmas stuff like this is really hard to come by here in China, so it has made our home feel even more Christmas-y than usual this year to have all the crafts around the house. They had so much fun with everything!

Lisa did this craft while Alex and I went to a Christmas party (baby Geneva came along with us!). She also made cookies with them that night, put them to bed, and cleaned my house...really I have the best sister ever!

We also made a gingerbread house while she was here with all the christmas candy Lisa brought with her. Vera spent most of the time eating the sprinkles one by one, but the house got put together and despite the mess it turned out looking pretty good!

While Lisa was here, she said she really wanted to see how we live instead of touring around. Considering it rained all but one day she was here, that was a good thing! So we took her around our neighborhood and basically just let her live life with us. The one clear afternoon we had, we took the girls out to ride bikes and scooters. Vera borrowed this scooter from a little friend and had a great time learning to ride it.
About a 5 minute walk up our street is as hair salon that does a hair wash, massage, and hair cut for 20 rmb...which is approximately $3.00. Not bad! So Lisa got a haircut while she was here. Wendy wanted one too, so she got a cute little 'bob' to match Lisa's!

Every morning one of the highlights was to skype with Lisa's husband and kids back in North Carolina. Here is Lisa holding all three of my kids while she talks with hers through the computer!
