Two little mermaids!

Halloween was yesterday, and though there is no trick-or-treating here in China, we found a couple fun ways to make a few memories for the girls!
Pumpkins (or Southern Squash as they are known in Chinese...Nan Gua) are a little different here...they are usually oblong shaped (think very large orange zucchini). After a bit of looking on the part of a friend, we were able to secure a small round one, and Alex and the girls carved a very nice looking little pumpkin yesterday!
Here are a couple photos:
We also went to a friend's house for a little kids party with some other American and Chinese friends and neighbors. The girls had lots of fun showing off their mermaid tails and eating way too many sweets! Wendy got to try a little 'pin the eyes/ears/nose/etc. on the monster game.' It took a try to two before she figured out that it really was more fun not to peak under the blindfold!
Here is our attempt at getting all the kids lined up for a photo!
